Welcome to  the first post on the new blog.  Over coming months we will be posting lots of information about the family name and family members and hopefully there will be something of interest to you.  Please add comments and tell us about your branch of the family.

We are researching the surnames Titheradge, Titheridge, Tidridge and Tytheridge along with less common variants Titherage, Tutheridge, Teatheridge and Tedridge. All appear to be from a common origin and have been derived from variations in spellings by one family group.  Over the past 25 years we have collected a wealth of knowledge about our family history, stretching back to the 16th century, and we would like to share some of this information with you.

Individuals with the name are spread around the world.  Within England the surname Titheridge is the commonest, followed by Titheradge, then Tidridge and Tytheridge.  Most people with the family name live in the Hampshire or London area.  In New Zealand the commonest surname is Titheridge, while Australia is mainly home to both  the surnames Titheridge and Titheradge.  Canada has families with the surname Tidridge and Titheridge, while USA is home to individuals with the surname Tidridge and Titherage.  South Africa has individuals with the surname Tytheridge.
